Where space becomes a stage, more than architecture emerges. This is precisely where our project comes in, which is featured in the "Favorite Projects" anthology in the 2025 issue of office +objekt.

At the Heidelberg Congress Center, spaces are transformed into experiences. Opened under the motto "Space is Performance," and designed by the Basel-based architectural firm Degelo, it serves as a platform for conferences and creative networking. This versatility required flexible furnishings that accommodate various event formats.

Together with the design firm wd3, we developed the modular system space companion : convertible elements that transform from seating areas to standing tables or room dividers with a single movement. Combined with the lightweight, multifunctional furniture Xbrick®, this creates a stage for conferences, creative exchange, and inspiring encounters.

Westermann also demonstrated its technical and craftsmanship expertise in the interior design of the Heidelberg Congress Center, offering tailor-made solutions and a high level of reliability. Precisely crafted interior design solutions made from regional woods complete the concept and lend the spacious rooms elegance and durability. A "favorite project" that demonstrates how flexible and vibrant interior design can be.
